This syrup was created as a mega boost for immunity through the cold and flu season. Not only does it pack the power of regular elderberry syrup, but the added ingredients were also chosen to support the immune system, add anti-inflammatory properties, and for their ability to shorten the duration of cold and flu. This will be a small limited batch of half-pints.
Elderberry- As a preventative for cold and flu, it inhibits the early stages of infection by blocking key viral proteins responsible for viral attachment and entry into the host cells. When symptoms are already present, it assists in shortening the duration of cold and flu.
Osha root - antiviral and immune-stimulating properties. The resinous volatile oils in Osha root are considered to be a broad spectrum acting antiviral and antibacterial, making it helpful for a wide variety of infections- particularly those that have invaded, once again, the respiratory system. This shows one of the primary ways folks use this plant for coughs, colds, sore throats, and flu.
Astragalus root - works as an adaptogen, which gives the immune system more strength by lowering stress/improving adaptation to everyday stressors.
Rose hips - packed with Vitamin C, E, & K, are used to assist prevention of infections such as bladder, kidney, respiratory, and sinus infections and colds and flu.
Echinacea- often used to help relieve cold and flu symptoms and shorten the duration of the cold. It is also often used to help boost the immune system during the onset of cold and flu.
Reishi mushroom - has been called the mushroom of immortality. It has many polysaccharides, antioxidant properties, and beta-glucans that can help with immune function.
Adults take 1 tablespoon daily. If symptoms are present, take 1 tablespoon every 4 hours. Children change disease size to a teaspoon.
